Hammy Makes Official Statement About Phillie Phanatic Hot Dog Incident
The Rockford IceHogs mascot, Hammy Hog, has released an official statement regarding the event in which the Philadelphia Phillies mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, accidentally hit a fan with a hot dog.
If you have missed the big story in the world of professional sports teams mascots, "Phillie Phanatic Shoots Woman In Face With Hot Dog Gun, Sends Her To Hospital" according to deadspin.com.
Here's what happened.
"The Phillie Phanatic aimed his hot dog gun, pressed a button and fired into the stands. The duct tape-wrapped hot dog flew through the air … and hit Kathy McVay in the face. It knocked off her glasses, gave her a black eye and sent her to the emergency room."

The good news is the woman only suffered a minor injury and she will not take legal action against the team. I'm sure the Phillies will take care of her.
In light of this unfortunate incident, Hammy Hog would like to assure all the Rockford fans they have nothing to worry about when it comes to games at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
I reached out to the Rockford IceHogs mascot and he gave me this official statement.
"I am not athletic enough to pull off a maneuver like that and I'm more about eating hot dogs than launching them into the stands at fans." - Hamilton E. Hog, Official Mascot of the Rockford IceHogs
That's why Hammy is the best.
