Expect to Be Confused For a While When Shopping at This Rockford Walmart
Prepare to not know where anything is for quite a while.
I tend to do a lot of my shopping at night, I've always been a night owl and it's sorta like "me time". Because I can walk the aisle at my own pace, read labels without interruption, and not have to tell my kids they can't have every cool thing that catches their eye.
Last night I was shopping what many consider the Loves Park/Machesney Park Walmart, but technically its address is in Rockford. You know the one right there on Northridge.
I noticed the time before when I was there shopping that they had started moving sections of the store around, so I figured a remodel was coming.
But this seems more like a remodel on steroids.
When I first walked in I noticed the whole pharmacy section had been torn up and they were working on removing the shelves.
Thankfully you could still shop most of the aisles, but finding some items became tough.
Then I got further into the store and realized I wasn't in Kansas anymore.
Whole sections have been moved from one side of the store to the other and finding something as easy as garbage bags took what felt like an eternity.
After finding the garbage bags I was finally able to make my way to the checkout.
While I was at the register I asked the cashier how long they expected to be remodeling, she told me at least a couple of months.
She said their expected grand re-opening is scheduled for Nov. 8.
Here's hoping they have maps for us to use so we can figure out where everything is again.....and again.
