Dairy Queen is celebrating its 80th anniversary this week at the first restaurant located in Illinois.

I'm a big fan of Dairy Queen. Give me a twist cone and I'm a happy guy. I have great memories of DQ. After we won a game in little league baseball, our coach would take us there. Back then, I would always get the baseball helmet sundae, even though they seemed to never have the Cubs.

I found out an interesting fact today about Dairy Queen.

According to theherald-news.com,

"Dairy Queen turned 80 on Monday. And the first store opened on North Chicago Street in Joliet."

I had no idea. That's pretty cool. Congratulations to DQ. I think I'll celebrate by getting some ice cream on my way home from work today.
