Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the summertime in Illinois. There are so many fun things to do outside after being cooped up all winter, but for my money, fall is my favorite season. It's not so hot; I love hoodie weather. The leaves changing colors. My favorite sport football. Don't forget about Halloween, and so much more going on.

I remember when I was a kid, during the fall, my parents would pick a day to road trip up to Wisconsin to hit an apple orchard. I would get so excited. We would come home with apples, apple donuts, apple cider, and more. When I moved to Rockford, I found out there were apple orchards in the area, so I've definitely taken advantage of them through the years.
