Three Cub players got some good news Sunday night when the All-Star selections were announced.

Willson Contreras and Javy Baez found out they were first-time selections to the mid-summer classic. Jon Lester will be making his fifth trip to the All-Star game.

Lester handled it in typical Jon Lester fashion. Not making too big a deal out of it.

That's basically a press release. Dude's been there before. I'm sure it's an honor still but the novelty has worn off.

The same can't be said for the other two first timers.

Javy was honestly a little more reserved than I thought he would be. There's a cool video out there of Javy and Willson finding out about the news. I'd embed it but MLB doesn't seem to know how social media works. You can watch the videos here.

The best reaction is out of Contreras. You can see it in the video above. He was overcome with emotion and started crying in the batting cage.

Those are some stills from the video. It's pretty cool seeing the honor meaning so much to the guy.

If you had told me at the beginning of the year that Contreras and Baez would have been STARTING the All-Star game and the Cubs cornerstones of Rizzo and Bryant wouldn't even make the roster I would have called you crazy. But this is where we are and this is why it's great to be a Cubs fan.
