A stinker of a movie from 2010, influenced some Chicago area people to get dressed as nuns and rob a bank...Ben Affleck must be proud! SG

The 2010 movie "The Town" goes like this:

Boston bank robber Doug MacRay falls for a woman his gang had previously taken hostage. The gang dresses like nuns and rob a bank.

Our real life Chicago crime went like this:

A bunch of people robbed a Palos Heights, IL bank after watching this movie. They forced a female employee to remove money from a vault and place it into a Nike duffel bag.

Couldn't you guys watch Dumb & Dumber, or maybe Flashdance next time?

On a Sunday afternoon back in 2012, a bunch of bad guys dressed as nuns walked into a Palos Heights, Il bank with guns drawn. They were obviously caught on security camera in their nun outfits, that you can see HERE.

The "nuns" forced a female bank employee to stuff a bunch of cash from the bank vault, into a Nike duffel bag that they had with them. The amount of money that they made away with was not determined.

Both of the "nuns" stood about 5'5, 5'7 and shared their blessings with the bank employees, I mean, made off with a bag full of dough in a silver, four-door Chevrolet. One robber was male, one was female, and both apparently huge Ben Affleck fans.

Here's the movie trailer that influenced these Illinois back robbers to do what they did:
