Tis the season for giving, I am sure you've already seen the Salvation Army in full force this year ringing bells and collecting for the needy this Christmas. Most people leave coins or dollar bills but this time an anonymous donor dropped some one-ounce gold coins into the kettle in Chicago according to NBC Chicago.com. The first coin was found in Crystal Lake, a Gold Eagle coin worth 1,200 bucks.

In Geneva, a South African Krugerrand Coin was found in a kettle, worth about the same amount, but that wasn't all. Along with it, they found several more gold coins and even some small gold bars, but the combined value has not been released yet. The next coin was found in a kettle at Fox Lake. It was another one ounce Gold Eagle coin worth 1,200 bucks. Lt. Colonel Charles, Smith who is the Salvation Army's Divisional Commander stated " These Donors are bringing help, hope, and comfort to our most vulnerable neighbors.
