When Bad Smells Force A Plane To Land In Chicago
There have been many reasons over the years for an airplane to be diverted from its course, sometimes for serious issues and others for weird reasons, but I'm not exactly sure where this incident in Illinois fits in.
A Flight From Newark To Vegas Diverted To Chicago Because Of The Smell
Have you ever experienced a bad smell on an airplane? If you never have, then be very happy about that because it's a very bad experience. I was on a small airplane, and somebody had really bad body odor. I thought I was going to throw up. Another time, one of the other passengers stunk up the restroom terribly, so everyone sitting in the back on the plane suffered.
According to ABC 7 Chicago...
A United Airlines flight from Newark to Las Vegas was diverted to Chicago's O'Hare airport due to an odor in the back of the cabin, airline officials said.
In those couple of stinking experiences, nothing happened. The flight kept going, and all the passengers had to suffer through it. Too bad we couldn't light a candle or something. That might've helped a little bit. I guess the people who stunk up the cabin weren't self-conscious about it because they just went about their day.

I've heard of flights being diverted because of the smell, but I guess in those cases it just wasn't bad enough to land. I wonder what the threshold is? An airplane going from Newark to Las Vegas had to land at O'Hare because the smell was so bad. I want to know what that smell was. It's bad enough to put up with a bad odor, but now the trip was being delayed because of it.
