Seltzer-loaded Semi Goes Up In Flames On I-90 Near Madison
It's always scary when a semi truck is burning up on the side of the highway in Wisconsin, and once everyone is safe, the first question is "what was inside?"
Semi Truck Filled With Alcohol Starts On Fire On The Side Of Wisconsin Highway
I've lived in Rockford for a long time now. It's actually the place I've lived the longest in my life. I still do have friends and family, including my mother, who still live in the Chicago area. So, I still go back and forth quite a bit on I-90. Through my many years of taking the tollway, I've witnessed some pretty crazy things. One of the scariest was a semi truck completely on fire near the Elgin toll. The traffic was very heavy that day, so I was afraid of what was inside the trailer and whether it could cause a big explosion.

According to WMTV 15 News...
A trailer carrying 60 pallets of alcoholic seltzer was destroyed in a fire on Interstate 90 in Madison early Friday morning.

Recently, there was a semi truck fire on I-90, but this time it was north of the border near Madison. Its haul was going from LaCrosse to Kentucky. The trip was going along fine when another driver in a car got the trucker's attention. There was a fire coming out of the trailer. He safely got the tractor-trailer to the side of the road and called 911. The fire department was able to put out the blaze, but the truck, trailer, and load were a total loss. What was inside? It was 60 pallets of alcoholic seltzer. That's going to ruin someone's party.
