I caught Groundhog Day of T.V. the other night, great movie with a part of it shot in  Woodstock, IL.

According to Only in our State here are 8 Places You Recognize From Illinois That Showed Up In Famous Movies:

  • Charles Gates Dawes House (Evanston) - Road to Perdition was the movie, set in Chicago.
  • Chagall Windows, Art Institute of Chicago -  Ferris Bueller's Day Off
  • University of Illinois-Chicago - The super scary "Candyman" The movie features scenes of campus and housing projects near by.
  • Home Alone House (Winnetka)- The Home Alone House is a tourist attraction for sure
  • Chicago Board of Trade - Batman Begins,  Chicago Board of Trade Building is "Wayne Enterprises."
  • Plano - Shots of what was supposed to be Kansas in "Man of Steel" were filmed around Plano, IL.
  • Bluff City Cemetery (Elgin) - This cemetery was used in Nightmare of Elm Street
  • O’Hare International Airport - Home Alone, Sleepless in Seattle are the big ones.
