4 Ways to Celebrate the First day of Summer

It is officially the first day summer, so here are some ways to celebrate around here.

At 5:34pm today it is officially, summer. So how are you going to celebrate?

I mean if I have to sit through 1000 posts on Facebook all weekend about how your dad is the greatest father in the world, there better be 1000 more "Happy First Day of Summer" posts, right?

Here's something Hallmark needs to jump all over, "Happy First Day of Summer" cards. Something with a dog wearing sunglasses in a kids pool, sipping a beer. You're welcome Hallmark, now send me a check.

There are so many great things to do in our area that just scream summer fun.

So in no real order here are my idea's of how you can celebrate the first day of summer.

•  Magic Waters - You have locally one of the top 5 water parks in the entire state right in our backyard.
• Sinnissippi Gardens - A stroll along the Rock River Bike Path to the gardens, you won't regret it.
• Play ball - The Rockford Rivets are the new baseball team in town, check out a game
• Discovery Center Museum - Heat a little much for you? I highly recommend an afternoon inside the museum.
