10 Restaurants That Left Rockford, But we Want Them Back ASAP!
We have seen a lot of great hot spots to grab a bite to eat...vanish. Whether it was favorite place as a kid, or even a novelty spot that was in Rockford for a short period of time and closed up...There's been some great restaurants in Rockford that are no longer here. All we have is a memory or a vintage t-shirt.
How great would it be to win the lottery, and open one of these Rockford restaurants back up! I know there are a lot more than these 10, but see if this does anything for you.
Maybe these places will spark a memory, so much so that you can taste it!
So if you have more to add, let me know! captain.jack@townsquaremedia.com
Tumbleweed - I remember the chips and refried beans for sure.
Maid-Rite - Only had this once, quick lunch that was delicious.
Hungry Hobo - Never had this one, I've heard all about it! Sandwiches, baked potatoes and cookies.
LT's - The wings. Nothing more needs to be said.
Cheddars - Where Stone Eagle is now, delicious family spot!
Maria's - Real Italian, and Rick Nielsen was there almost every time I went.
Dom's Pizza - It's all about the sauce! You can still get that in Rockford.
Diamond Dave's - OK, this is weird...I love their Chicken Cordon Bleu.
Ponderosa - These were all over the place at one time. Mmmm...steak.
Rocky Rococo's - This is good, cheap priced pizza. Still hanging around in Wisconsin.
