What if Beloit’s Baseball Team Were the River Rockers?

With a new minor league baseball stadium in the works, the former Beloit "Snappers" baseball team is also searching for a new identity. What will the organization go with for a new team name? According to Beloit Daily News fans will have to wait until spring.

There have been some names thrown around, that are very "minor league" baseball....The Supper Clubbers, I'm strangely a fan of this one.

When I came across this name and logo, I thought what a perfect marriage of some Beloit concepts...The Beloit River Rockers. Back in the day, I went to my fair share of "Beloit Riverfest" rock shows. The logo pays tribute the the old Snappers mascot with an updated appearance. I love going to The Rock in Beloit. I'm in, let's do this...as if I have a vote.

Now as mentioned in the article, going the route of a name that pays tribute to the history of Beloit, Wisconsin is a good idea, too.  The "Ironworkers" does have a tough, hard working sound to it. But River Rockers people, could you imagine a post game concert after a River Rockers game with Cheap Trick?

We already know that this new stadium will be top notch, the entertainment value for the entire family will be totally worth it, so let's River Rock it...Beloit!
