One Illinois Golf Course Reopens Under A New Name This Weekend

When my family began to consider moving from our house in Rockford a couple of years ago, Westlake Village in Winnebago, Illinois was one of the neighborhoods we were very interested in. Not only is it a great community, but Westlake Village residents also have access to a small lake, pool, beach, and even a golf course...until the course closed in 2018.

My husband and I are not golfers, but I'd be lying if I said the closing of the golf course didn't dull the sparkle of Westlake Village for potential home buyers. Well, now it's time for a comeback because the golf course at Westlake Village has been revamped, and will be reopening to the public this weekend! (Aug 6 & 7)

Say Hello to the New Lynx Golf Course at Westlake Village

The former Westlake Village Golf Course has not only received a new look but a brand new name too! Lynx Golf Course at Westlake Village is still an 18-hole course spanning over 131 acres, but the greens have been rebuilt, the bunkers have been "refurbished", and the clubhouse got a major glow-up that includes a bar, a kitchen, and gaming.

Now that the Lynx Golf Course is ready to open its gates to the public again, they are hosting a Grand Opening celebration this weekend that features a golfing tournament, discounted green fees, food trucks, and more!
