Understanding The Foreign Language of Baby Products
Is it just me or is baby stuff written in an entirely different language?
On this episode of From a First Time Mom, I want to talk about how hard it has been for me to decide on what I should purchase for my first child and what I need to register for.
I don't know why baby registries exist. I'm assuming it's because once family and friends find out your are pregnant, they love to shower you and baby with love. After all, it takes a village to raise a child.
So, I've decided to attempt to register for baby girl. I'm a planner, so I needed some sort of plan of attack.
The first part of my plan was to enlisted the help of my sisters and my mom, who know all about what babies need. They will be coming with me Sunday when I decided to grab the scanning gun and run through the aisles.
The second part of my plan was to find out what other moms think of different products out there. I went to Facebook and asked: "Moms: What are the must haves every new mommy needs for her and baby? What are things that new mommies think they need, but are a total waste of money?"
The answers to my questions came in droves. Every mom in the history of moms has an opinion on what you should and shouldn't get.
I have to say, reading through the comments made me feel as if I was reading a secret code language that only those who are mothers would understand. I have no idea what half of the stuff they were talking about means, does, or how to even pronounce it.
I took to Google to try to figure out what everything meant, did and how to say it. Then, thanks to a helpful list, (thanks Lisa) I devised part three of my plan. I made my own list.
I think I finally know exactly what I'll get. Maybe?
Yep, like I mentioned in the video, I agree with what Amanda said. I think that's the way I'll go.
