'Forrest Gump,' the classic film that helped launch Tom Hanks into becoming the beloved Oscar-winning, too-awesome-for-words actor he is today, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and moviegoers will be able to see it return to theaters in IMAX on September 5. To rekindle your love and unlock those heartfelt memories you have watching this film, Tom Hanks' original 'Forrest Gump' audition tape has surfaced online, if only to reiterate how wonderful a performer he is.

Performing opposite Robin Wright (who played Jenny) and a young baby Haley Joel Osment (who played Forrest's son), Hanks was clearly meant for this role. We can already feel the tears start welling up in our eyes when Forrest realizes he's a daddy, and even when he's having some fun with Osment.

Also present in this 'Forrest Gump' audition, are the young child actors, Michael Conner Humphreys and Hanna Hall, who portrayed young Forrest and young Jenny when these characters first met as kids on that school bus, and none of the other kids would let the little boy sit with them ... oh geez, here come the waterworks!
