This Video of an Airplane Abandoned in Illinois Woods is Super Eerie

This video might be nightmare fuel for some.

I can't decide how I feel about abandoned things. Some places obviously give off an eerie vibe right from the front door. But other abandoned places just feel sad. They don't even feel creepy, they just feel empty, yet full of old memories. It's a weird nostalgic feeling they bring up.

Some are nostalgic, some are just straight-up creepy.

I've seen a ton of videos of abandoned shops, restaurants, amusement parks, etc. online before. But this video of the abandoned plane is the first of its kind that I've seen. I'm sure that's because abandoned planes are a lot rarer than buildings.

What's even more about this plane is that everything was left behind. Creepy right?

People in the comment section had a lot of fun trying to figure out why this plane is in the condition it was left in. One person said -

Really cool find. You may find the wings were cut off to allow it to be transported. Always surprized when I see videos of aircraft with the engines still mounted. You would think they would be removed for scrap and possible parts salvage as soon as the airframe is taken out of service.

My guess would be that the wings were shortened to allow it to fit on say a wide load semi. I would also guess that the owner originally wanted to maybe make a house out of it?
