Six Flags is doing big things. First, they unleashed Tsunami Surge this past weekend at Hurricane Harbor in Gurnee and now they got something for us in Rockford.

TALLEST WATER COASTER IN THE WORLD

The Tsunami Surge is listed as the Tallest Water Coaster in the World, and the brand new Tidal Wave that just debuted at Hurricane Harbor Rockford is no slouch either.

MIDWEST'S FIRST AND ONLY TAILSPIN WATERSLIDE

According to a press release from Six Flags:

This state-of-the-art water attraction is the Midwest’s first and only tailspin waterslide, towering 43 feet above ground to give riders the experience of limitless wave riding.

MAXIMUM THRILL LEVELS

Tidal Wave is said to have a "Maximum" Thrill Level according to Six Flags. Comparatively, Tsunami Surge is also set to the max thrill level, so you'll be getting equal thrills no matter which park you visit.

While you'll be flying through the water at 28 mph when you're on the Tsunami Surge, the Tidal Wave will have you pushing 15 MPH, so that's no joke either.

HEIGHT MINIMUMS AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW

The minimum height to hop on Hurricane Harbor's 12th waterslide is 42" so it might not be right for the little ones, but parents and big kids, this one new slide you don't want to miss out on.

Besides the max thrills, and the 43 foot drop the new Tidal Wave provides at Hurricane Harbor Rockford, there are a few other things you need to know. The ride also has three high-speed turns and features AquaLucent visual effects.

Hurricane Harbor is located at 7820 North Cherryvale Boulevard in Cherry Valley and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. most days. They have extended hours on Monday and Friday, closing at 9 p.m.
