With new guidelines in place, Hurricane Harbor Rockford announced they will open for the 2020 season on July 20.

July 20-21 is for members and season passes holders only. After that, Hurricane Harbor is open to the public.

In case you're wondering, the park will "operate at reduced attendance levels" throughout the summer.

A few of the new safety measures in places are:

  • Temperature checks
  • Touchless bag checks
  • Trained cleaning teams
  • Mobile food ordering

It another small step in an attempted return to normalcy for those of us in the Rockford area looking for something that reminds us of regular life.

Seeing folks at the former Magic Waters in the middle of the summer feels like we're taking a step in the right direction.

Hurricane Harbor Rockford's park hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and select weekdays through September 7.
