Why is it that not a single soul can pronounce this word correctly.

One thing I never understood was how people couldn't pronounce salmon.

Here's a clue: it's not sal-mon. You don't say the 'L.'

One word I can completely understand people mispronounce is Worcestershire.

I even walked around the office to see how others say it.

Yeah, that gross brown watery looking condiment that you put in with ketchup, horseradish and lemon to make a poor man's cocktail sauce.

According to FineDiningLovers.com, THIS is how you say it: wus-tuh-shur. Say it with me now... wus-tuh-shur.

I still am not 100% sure that this is exactly how you should say it. You see, I've looked in three different dictionaries, and they all say there are three different pronunciations. But this is the one that was most common.
