A man in Illinois proved the fact that drinking and driving is not a good combination, even if his beverage of choice is tequila.

Drinking and driving is never good, but when it gets to be this time of year, the problem gets even worse. People who normally wouldn't get behind the wheel while intoxicated will, unfortunately, take the unnecessary risk. It's definitely not worth the major trouble that it can bring.

Just remember, in this day and age, there are so many options; you should never drive under the influence. There are ride-share businesses like Uber and Lyft. Almost everyone has a smartphone. You can take public transportation. Heck, if it isn't too far, get yourself some exercise and walk.

This was kind of a crazy situation in Cortland. The local police were called to a farm where a car had driven into a cornfield. When the officers arrived, they found the driver of the vehicle, and he was drinking tequila straight out of the bottle. There was no doubt he was getting a D.U.I. Thank goodness no one was injured.

Police who responded to a driver who crashed into a cornfield said he began drinking from an open bottle of tequila while speaking with first responders.

 

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Old State Road and East Country Line Road around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning.

 

Authorities said as the Sycamore Fire Department attempted to remove the man, identified as Jose Guadalajara, 64, of Elgin, he began to drink from the tequila bottle.
