A national NFL reporter wrote an article saying the Chicago Bears should trade the best player on their team.

I'm a big Bears fan. I'll be the first to admit that the season has been a major disappointment so far and doesn't look like it's going to get better anytime soon.

The team needs to make some changes. Of course, everyone has their own opinion. Some are good and some are bad. This idea is controversial.

According to barstoolsports.com,

"People who wouldn't consider trading Khalil Mack this offseason are insane."

Basically, this is their argument. Chicago needs to reload with some better talent. Mack makes big money that takes up a lot of room on the salary cap. They have some core players to re-sign. Maybe some free agents. Plus, they don't have a lot of picks for the draft so they can collect some more of those.

Of course, there was a response from another writer.

According to sportsmockery.com,

"Khalil Mack trade would solve nothing for the Bears. A knee-jerk emotional reaction to a team that is struggling."

Here is their rebuttal. The team will have plenty of salary cap room after cutting some players the team doesn't want back. Plus, some expiring contracts will make more space. Also, they have made some trades to add a couple of picks for this year's draft.

My opinion is to not trade the superstar. He's the type of player you build a franchise around. Plus, he's still young and has a lot of football left to play.

What do you think?
