Sheriff Office Warning of New Phone Scam

Nothing aggravates me more than people taking advantage of others. The Ogle County Sheriff is putting out a warning for a new phone scam hitting the Stateline area.

'Tis the season for no-good-necks mingling their way into good people's lives. It makes me absolutely crazy how good these scammers are at taking our hard earned money.

The newest phone scam according to WTVO, is from the "Disabled Police and Sheriffs Foundation."

On your caller ID, the number appears to be from Illinois. They solicit for money, yet this is nothing more than a scam.

If you receive a call from them, ignore it. Do not give them your money!

Please report as much information as possible from the caller to the Illinois Sheriffs' Association at ISA@ilsheriff.org so that these scammers can be stopped.
