Mothers Day Concert Returns To The Iconic Sinnissippi Music Shell

The Rockford area music scene has a deep history and storied past that can rival any other city besides Chicago in Illinois, and a legendary concert is coming back after many years being gone.

The Return Of Rockford's Legendary Mother's Day Concert

Rockford has been a great place for music, bands, and concerts through the years. Events like On The Waterfront, the MetroCentre, and Rockford Speedway concerts are legendary. There is one that was way before my time in town, but I've heard such great things. That's the infamous Mother's Day Concerts. They first started at the Sinnissippi Music Shell, then moved to Anna Page Park.

According to Sinnissippi Music Shell...

Dedicated in 1950, the Music Shell in Sinnissippi Park is an acoustic amphitheater that can accommodate as many as 700 on benches, and up to 3,000 on the terraces and lawn. A favorite spot of many local congregations and arts organizations, the Music Shell hosts a wide variety of events throughout the season.

 

We've teamed up with the Rockford Park District to bring back the legendary Mother's Day Concert to the Sinnissippi Music Shell. It's a great way to kick off Rockford Jams for 2026. We look forward to bringing the rock a little bit earlier this year.

Details For The Return Of The Legendary Rockford Mother's Day Concert...

• Saturday, May 9th

• The day before Mother's Day, so you can still spend quality time with mom on her day

• Sinnissippi Music Shell

• Free admission

• All ages

• Doors 2pm

• The show kicks off at 2:45pm

• The kids from the Rock n Roll Institute will kick off the show

• 3:45pm Monkeymind (featuring veterans of the Rockford music scene, and some members had played Mother's Day Concerts in the past)

• 5pm Headliner & Rockford Legends - Ript

• Food trucks on site for when you get hungry
