Rockford Middle Schooler Awarded for Saving Family from Fire
Back in September 12-year-old Makila McCullough awoke early in the morning to a smoke alarm going off in her home on Bildahl Street in Rockford, and her quick thinking helped saved her entire family from perishing in the blaze that completely destroyed their home.
On Tuesday, representatives from the American Red Cross stopped by Resa Middle School in Rockford to award Makila for her heroic actions, and I think she deserves a round of applause from us all!
