Rockford Man Attempts To Buy Phone But Car Stolen Instead

When a man in Rockford tried to purchase a cell phone, his vehicle got stolen.

I admit that I look on "marketplace" type websites for cool stuff to buy but I don't go through with it. I think it's just too risky. The second I go meet someone for the exchange, they are going to rip me off.

I know it doesn't happen all the time but incidents like this one scare me off.

According to mystateline.com,

"A man thought he was going to be buying a cell phone from someone online but ended up getting robbed. He met a woman at a house to buy the phone. The woman went around to the back of the house to get the phone when two men with guns walked up to him, robbed him and stole his SUV."

I think I'll stick with Amazon.
