Rockford Extends Deadline for Paving Driveways

Not that long ago Rockford residents were told they were going to have to pave their gravel driveways and parking lots.

Now the city is giving them more time to get it done.

Before the deadline to have your driveway or parking lot paved was November 1st, 2019, which left some wondering where they were going to come up with the money to get it done by then.

Because failure to comply could lead to penalties that could include heafty fines.

Now they don't have to worry quite so much because Rockford City Council has extended the deadline.

City officials ruled on Monday that the deadline is now November 1st, 2020.
