The future hotel in downtown Rockford is making progress.

Every time I went to Davis Park, I thought to myself, that Amerock Building is a horrible and I wish they would just tear it down. It was an eyesore.

Then they talked about making it into a hotel and conference center. Again, I thought to myself, they have to be crazy. That place is too trashed. There's no way that could ever be converted into anything.

The project was approved by the city and work began. I still had my doubts.

I was downtown last Friday. It was a beautiful spring day. I had a few minutes to kill, so I decided to take a walk around. My adventure took me by Davis Park. I was really shocked by what I saw.

There was progress. The ugly building is starting to look like something nice. There are actually windows on it. The exterior no longer looks like an abandoned wreck.

Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see the final product.
