A hotel employee found something bad left behind in a vacant room in Illinois.

Items Left Behind In Hotel Rooms

I could only imagine what it would be like to work at a hotel. Different people coming and going each and every day. How about working in housekeeping? I bet they find crazy items left behind in the rooms all the time. I wonder what they do with them?

Problem In Illinois With Mail Being Stolen

Of course, most people know about Porch Pirates that steal unattended packages outside homes in Illinois. Well, there are also thieves taking mail out of boxes and trying to find money, checks, and valuable merchandise. I even read a story recently about a criminal that broke into post office boxes in an apartment building.

According to wgntv.com,

The management at the Virgin Hotel in Chicago (203 North Wabash Avenue) reached out to city police earlier this week. While cleaning a room, the housekeeper found a bunch of stolen mail. The last customer must have robbed the post office and left it behind. The Windy City cops have teamed up with the United States Post Office to investigate the missing letters and packages. Witnesses watched the authorities with evidence that included electronic devices and postal property.

Statement From A Spokesperson for USPS,

Postal Inspectors and Chicago Police have launched an investigation this morning into which individual(s) possessed Postal property at that downtown hotel room, how they came into its possession, and what specific criminal activity they may have used it for.
