Some new data shows that Illinois' population is continuing to shrink, for the fifth-straight year.

The numbers, recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau, show that over 45,000 people packed up their stuff and got out to Illinois in 2018. That's an over 11,000 increase from 2017.

The Bureau's data shows that Illinois had the second largest population loss in the country, behind New York. Also, as if all of this wasn't bad enough, Illinois was the ONLY state in the Midwest with a population drop, according to WREX.com.
