‘Orange Is The New Black’ Star Coming to Rockford

'Flaca' from Orange is the New Black will be in Rockford on Feb. 3.

Do I love me some Orange is the New Black.

Each time a season comes out I binge watch like crazy.

One notable character from the series is Flaca. She's got an attitude, eyeliner that doesn't quit and is one of my favorite characters from the Netflix Original Series.

Jackie Cruz, who plays Flaca, will be bringing her outgoing personality and stories to Rockford. Jackie Cruz is a phenomenal actress and also a very talented musician as well.

But it wasn't all fun and fame for her.

Jackie Cruz is a survivor of many challenges including when she was in a near fatal car accident. She has not let that determine her future.

She will be speaking at Rock Valley College on February 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center Atrium sharing her stories of struggle and determination in hopes to inspire the audience to achieve their dreams.
