The Most Expensive House For Sale In Wisconsin Is Almost $12,000,000. Is It Worth It?
When you start to get into property listings in the 8-figure range, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
I came across a list of the most expensive homes for sale in each state. We've already covered the most expensive home in Illinois, this $45 million mansion in suburban Chicago, and this Wisconsin home is much more affordable, comparatively speaking, at a much more modest $11.9 million.
So is this enough of a house to warrant such a lofty price? Let's take a look.
This 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom Door County house is over 3,000 square feet and is situated on the gorgeous coastline of Lake Michigan.
From their Zillow ad:
Exceptionally rare offering of 805 feet of shorefront on 7.44 acres on Cottage Row Rd in Fish Creek... An extraordinary porperty developed in the 1920's with a main house, guest cottage, boathouse, tennis court, walled garden and several out buildings... Possibly the largest privately owned boathouse in Door County.
Let's take a step inside.
Actually, before we go inside, take a look at this view that goes through the house. Gorgeous.
Here is the aforementioned boathouse, possibly the largest in Door County. I have no reference point when it comes to boathouses, is this a nice one? I'm not nearly rich enough to have a boathouse or even know anyone that would have one. I will say that the party deck on the roof of the boathouse would be an amazing spot for a summertime party.
That might be worth the $12M right there.
And how about that coastline? Take a look. No one for miles and the crystal clear Lake Michigan water comes right up to your house. Not a bad view to wake up to every day.
Now let's take a look inside the property, which I'm going to be honest about is far less impressive that the exterior of the house. They didn't include a ton of interior shots on the Zillow post, but these were the most interesting I could find.
This would be a very nice living room in your cabin up north. For a $12M mansion? Kind of lacking.
Same thing for this kitchen. Very nice. I would love for that to be my actual kitchen (even though I don't see a fridge) but I expect considerably more for the asking price.
The interior is also kind of boring. Beautiful and modestly appointed, but in the end? Boring.
And here's the last interesting picture I pulled from the Zillow ad. Great porch. 10 out of ten. I would literally live out here.
So again, I'm not telling you what to do with the $12M burning a hole in your pocket, but you can probably find something a little more impressive than this Door County property.
