I was very surprised that it was very difficult to find out the exact answer. It's like no one has ever done that research. Isn't this an important enough subject? I believe it is.

The best I found was from the Forbes website. Their study included Chicago and not Illinois. I figured that's close enough, since how the Windy City goes, so does the state.

So basically, what this chart is saying... out of all the Mexican restaurants in Chicago, the ratio of tacos to burritos on their menus is 53% to 47% in favor of tacos. These places feature more tacos for customers than burritos.

In this case, it is safe to say that tacos are more profitable than burritos because they are smaller and simpler with less overhead. They are also a very popular food item. That gives them the advantage in this discussion.
