Loves Park Police Release a Updated Report on the Emily Anderson Investigation
Late last night, reports surfaced in reference to a vehicle submerged in the Rock River. As the Emily Anderson missing person investigation continues, Loves Park Police have issued a press release as to what transpired on Sunday night.
A time line of events, as they happened, on Sunday has been released. A couple of corrections to the timeline include the time when sheriff's deputies first responded.
According to the updated timeline, police arrived 9800 block of Fantail place, in Roscoe at 4pm, after a resident, who was swimming in the Rock River, observed car antennae visible above the surface of the water in the Rock River.
Deputies called upon the Harlem-Roscoe fire department divers to assist. Their search determined the submerged vehicle was the same vehicle that was driven by missing Loves Park Resident, Emily Anderson.
After the vehicle was removed from the river, police then determined there was a body inside. You can view the press release below.
It is interesting to note the report indicated that authorities made sonar searches of the Rock River during the investigation over past few months, however, they did not locate the vehicle that was found by a Roscoe resident on Sunday afternoon.
As reported earlier, the Winnebago County coroner is expected to perform an autopsy on Tuesday.
