Rock River Projected To Flood This Weekend In The Rockford Area

After all the rain this past week, it looks like the Rock River is projected to flood this weekend in the Rockford area.

According to the National Weather Service, using their Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service, the river has already reached flood stage at Latham Park and is projected to spill over its banks in Byron later today.

The recent rainfall has also surpassed the probability information shared by the National Weather Service. Neither the Latham Park nor Byron locations were previously expected to be at or above flood levels, but it's weather and hard to predict.

However, both areas with high flood probabilities are currently under a flood warning.
