Inside a Mall in Illinois Abandoned with Many Items Left Inside

There's no question that the era when malls thrived is in the distant past, but a few are hanging on in Illinois. There's one that was abandoned as recently as a couple of years ago that still has many items left inside.

This shopping area used to be the International Plaza Shopping Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Based on comments on the Google Reviews, it's been abandoned for at least a year or two. Some urban explorers just did an investigation there and found many of the stores still have items inside.

Hard to understand why so many items some of which maintain a decent value are still remaining in these now-vacant stores. The plaza as a whole is obviously in massive disrepair and decay. Hard to imagine anyone being willing to invest the money to restore it and make into something now.
