Thieves Steal $33,000 Worth Of Purses In Daring Robbery At Illinois Department Store
The unique items that thieves in Illinois target no longer surprise me including this theft of $33,000 worth of purses.
Massive Theft Of Purses In Illinois
The incident happened at a Von Maur department store in Orland Park. These were brave thieves because it happened during the middle of a busy shopping day. The two bad guys walked into the building wearing all black and masks. One was armed with a baseball bat and the other was carrying bolt cutters.
The thieves approached the area where the store displayed very expensive purses. They were locked up but that's why the suspects brought the equipment. They busted open the case, grabbed a bunch of merchandise, and ran off. Their getaway car was a stolen vehicle.
Those must have been some really expense purses because how many can two guys carry? Especially, when they were in a rush. There wasn't even anything like money, wallets, credit cards, cellphones, or anything else inside them. If you find expensive purses for sale cheap on the Internet, don't buy them because they're probably hot.
Illinois Purse Thieves Arrested
In their hurry to get out of the store with all the merchandise, the thieves made a huge mistake. They left the bolt cutters behind. The police tested the tool for DNA and they hit the jackpot. They were able to identify both suspects. The pair was arrested. They're facing some serious charges because of the high value of the merchandise.
The items were processed and swabbed for DNA, which was then entered into the State of Illinois Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). Illinois State Police Lab reports identified DNA on the bolt cutter as the alleged suspects.
