
Illinois Thieves Chose Horrible Time To Break Into Jewelry Store
A pair of thieves in Illinois were busted when they tried robbing a jewelry store when the mall was still open for business.

I've heard of some dumb criminals committing really stupid crimes but this pair is definitely up there near the top. The incident happened at Yorktown Mall in Lombard. It's by where my mom lives so I know the place well.
Jewelry Store Robbery In Illinois
This place is about the size of CherryVale Mall so if something happens, it doesn't take long for security to respond and put a stop to the problem. This crime happened just before closing time so the guards were active around the facility.

The store was already closed for the night so any activity inside was suspicious. The thieves used tools to break the security gate so they could get in. No, that wouldn't make any loud noises at all. Where is the arrest me now sign?

When security showed up at the jewelry store, the two suspects took off running. The thieves hoped in a getaway car. A police car on patrol stopped the vehicle just a couple of blocks away from the mall.
When the officers searched the car, they found the burglary tools and $138,000 in stolen jewelry. Looks like those dudes are busted. It happened the day before Valentine's Day. Maybe, they were trying to get a present for that special someone.
According to Patch, Two men face felony charges after police say they stole more than $137,000 from the Rogers & Hollands store in Lombard's Yorktown Center on the day before Valentine's Day.
