I just don't get it. Why take the chance of breaking the law and then having to go to jail for a significant amount of time? It just doesn't seem worth it to me. There's nothing I want that bad that I'll steal for it.

The majority of the criminals in Illinois end up getting caught because they make dumb mistakes. The technology for security systems has gotten so sophisticated it has made it dang near impossible to get away with stealing and other crimes.

Then if the suspect gets caught, they'll take their stupidity to the next level by doing something like start a high-speed chase with police. That just adds insult to injury. I guess those criminals enjoy being behind bars.
So you're not going to believe this one. A woman from Chicago drove to Oak Brook Shopping Mall in the suburbs. The suspect walked into a store called Lululemon and stole some merchandise before she took off.
This woman's license plates were expired so a police car in the parking lot started to follow her. The suspect freaked out and started going faster. At one point she was going over 100 mph. She crashed the vehicle and took off on foot. The cops arrested her.
The officers found the stolen merchandise in her car. It was a couple of pair of leggings. Does that sound worth the trouble? I don't think so. If she was going to pull off a job like that, then at least steal something valuable. You can get leggings anywhere cheap.
