A Rockford area man used his passion for bobbleheads to earn money for a local charity.
Special Raffle Benefits Rockford Area Charity
We have a lot of great charities in the Rockford area that go above and beyond to help out the people in need from our community. Many of them are struggling financially because it's harder to get assistance from the government and donations from supporters.

One thing that I admire about the Rockford area charities is that they use a lot of creativity when it comes to fundraisers. Even residents who aren't members of an organization will create their own special events to support the causes they believe in.

McFarlin wanted to do something to give back to the community and thought what better way than with bobbleheads? He decided that raffling some off would be a great way to make money for a charity.
His original idea was to do it for the cystic fibrosis foundation because he recently had a family member pass away from the disease. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. Then he approached the IceHogs. They were all about it. The raffle was conducted at the most fitting game, bobblehead giveaway night.
He was able to make $1,840 for the Rockford IceHogs Community Fun which assists charities in the area. Not a bad payday from his fun little hobby.
