How about a high speed train that runs between Rockford and Chicago?

According to nbcchicago.com,

"Elon Musk, the entrepreneur behind Tesla and SpaceX, is in talks with Mayor Rahm Emanuel about constructing a high-speed underground rail line connecting the city’s downtown area and O’Hare International Airport, according to a report."

So what you're telling me is, the Mayor of Chicago wants to build a high speed train line from downtown Chicago to O'Hare?

First of all, it's not that far. From The Loop to O'Hare is less than twenty miles.

Plus, there are several different ways you can get to the airport. Of course, you can drive a car. If you don't have one you can go by bus, taxi, or Uber. There is even a train that can take you there already.

It doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't it be better to have a high speed train from somewhere farther out, like Rockford?

That seems like a good idea to me. A high speed train from Rockford to O'Hare. Then from there, you can get to anywhere in Chicago.

I know there has already been talk of a train from Rockford to Chicago that didn't work out, but I think this would be different. There would be no stops in between. You can take that train from Harvard to Chicago, but it takes a long time because all of the stops.

I know plenty of people that will drive all the way over to Harvard and pay the money to take that train. If there was a high speed train from Rockford, we could get lots of people to come here to ride it.

Passengers would come down from Wisconsin and the far out suburbs to ride the Rockford high speed train.

Hey Mr. Musk, skip your meeting with Mayor Emanual and set something up with Mayor McNamara.

What do you thing about a high speed train from Rockford to O'Hare?
