It is officially the time of year where our brains shift to holiday planning.

Where will we go?

How will we celebrate?

We may not be able to hop on Santa's lap in 2020, but we can still hop on the Illinois Railway Museum's 'Happy Holiday Railway' this Christmas!

I may only have daughters, but they still LOVE trains, and I know they will be all about this event I found on the Illinois Railway Museum's website. The "Happy Holiday Railway - The Holiday Light Experience" may be operating a bit differently this year thanks to that nasty Grinch COVID-19, but I'm willing to bet your family will still love it!

So, what will the experience be like in 2020? Here's what the website says;

Instead of streetcar rides and strolling the display barns and grounds, visitors will take a drive-through journey through the Museum campus, safely and comfortably in their personal vehicles. The route through the campus will take you past the best of the volunteer’s decorating work, including a fully-illuminated freight train! Christmas music will also be playing throughout the grounds.

The 'Happy Holiday Railway' at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL will begin running on Friday, November 27, from 5 to 8 p.m., and will continue running every Saturday and Sunday through December 20. Admission is $10 per carload and tickets DO NOT need to be purchased in advance.
