Here's a little history lesson about your favorite classic television Christmas shows.

For as long as I can remember, every year during the holidays, I'm sure to watch certain Christmas programs. They include Frosty The Snowman, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Year Without A Santa Clause, and so many others.

When I was a kid, I would mark them in the TV guide, so I wouldn't miss it. Nowadays, I set the DVR. They still have a special place in my heart. I can't get into the "spirit" without watching them.

What is it about these shows that everybody loves all these years later? Where is their place in tradition? Who was responsible for them? How did their special production get made? Why they so special?

Luckily, I had the opportunity to speak with Rick Goldschmidt. He's the official historian and biographer for Rankin/Bass. That was the production company that brought these characters to life.

Check out my interview with him. If you're a fan of those programs, you'll definitely enjoy this interview.
