‘Go Fund Me’ Set up For Rockford’s 15th & Chris After Devastating Fire

After a devastating fire destroyed Rockford's "15 & Chris" Burgers, on 15th Ave...The outpouring of love and community support has come in droves! Not only are Rockford folks a big fan of the food, but apparently LOVE Chris (James "Boogie" Purifoy) as well. A Go Fund Me has been set up to help with mounting costs, after the fire.

First off let's start here, a statement from the owners lawyer was made about the damage and the cause for the fire. WIFR

Purifoy was in the restaurant the night of the fire, prepping food for his food truck to go out Monday to The Home Depot in Machesney Park. He said that between 7 and 8 p.m. three people attacked Purifoy, knocking him unconscious and setting the restaurant on fire. -  Elder Granger II 

Purifoy was able to crawl from the burning establishment. Purifoy suffered 3rd-degree burns over 1/4 of his body. Those responsible for the fire demanded money in exchange for his personal safety. Purifoy also received texts and photos that included threats of violence and property damage.
