Stevie Ray Vaughan was a great Texas showman. His playing was furious, soulful and unmatched. He was also a pretty humble guy. I heard one story about when he was set to headline Chicagofest some time in the early 80's. Buddy Guy was to open for SRV. When Stevie found out, he insisted that he open for Buddy! The show when on as originally planned. It's no secret that Buddy was a major influence on Stevie. Buddy got his start with Muddy Waters in the late 50's and Stevie came to the world's attention in the early 80's. Jimi Hendrix fell right in between. Not bad company.

I think if Stevie were here today, he would give a standing ovation to his roadie. Check out this guy's fancy work when his boss breaks a string mid-performance.
