Disrespect Fuels Rockford’s Fred VanVleet

Not big enough, not from a Chicago high school program, doesn't have that "wow" factor.  Ask Auburn's Fred VanVleet if he cares.

A standout Nic-10 basketball star, Fred VanVleet is ready to rip through the NCAA Bracket with his Wichita State Shockers. Fred who was the highlight of the local news as an all conference player for Auburn, he has heard all the talk.

According to Kansas Fred VanVleet has dealt with the doubters and has proved them all wrong. Here are the negatives this Rockford basketball star has heard during his career:

• College coaches who watched him and passed on him
• The State of Illinois turn their back on Auburn, (lack of size and talent) during IHSA Tournament
• The NCAA selection committee seeded Wichita State Number  7
• Team USA coach Mark Few passed on Fred VanVleet for last summer’s Pan Am Games
• The Cousy Award did not include VanVleet on its list of 10 best point guards in the nation

Fred is a standout point guard, that gets Number 6 in the first round of the NCAA tournament. His talent, his drive and the chip on his shoulder should carry The Shockers deep into the tournament.

Don't be surprised to see Wichita State make it into the Final Four, good luck Fred...Prove them all wrong.
