A man in Wisconsin learned a valuable lesson about crossbow safety. He was getting his crossbow ready to go hunting when he accidentally fired an arrow. It struck him in the ankle. The hunter decided to drive himself to the hospital to get treated. On the way, he passed out while driving there.
His car went off the road and started going through a field. He eventually ran into a tree. A witness called the police. He was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. His car was totaled. Next time, I think he'll be a little bit more careful.

According to Channel 3000...
A 73-year-old man shot himself in the ankle with a crossbow and struck a tree with his vehicle after passing out in the Town of South Lancaster on Monday morning.
When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the man had been preparing to hunt just outside of Cassville, Wisconsin, while he was getting ready for the hunt, the crossbow he was using discharged, and the bolt with a broadhead struck him on the inside of his right ankle.
The homeowner found the man injured and called 9-1-1. The man was transported by EMS to Grant Regional Health Center for treatment and later transferred to a larger medical facility for advanced care.
