A fugitive from the law in Illinois found an interesting place to hide from the police, but luckily, the cops were still able to track him down.

There's something I understand, but don't understand about criminals. They're about to get busted, so they try to get away. Okay, I understand they don't want to get arrested, but by trying to flee the scene, they're going to end up getting in so much more trouble.

The criminals who are running from the police never get away with it, so why even bother? Well, I guess they believe they'll be the first to escape. When I think about it, the act of fleeing makes sense because they have already committed a crime, which isn't the smartest thing to do either.

The police in Shorewood spotted a driver without his seatbelt on. They started to follow the suspect to eventually pull him over. The guy got paranoid, so he tried to escape by driving very fast. The cops were able to keep up with him.

The man then pulled over into a Burger King parking lot. He took off on foot and ran inside the restaurant. He tried to hide in the women's restroom, but the officers found him immediately. How embarrassing.

According to Patch...

A recent reckless driving crime in Shorewood resulted in the capture of a Bolingbrook man who ran from his vehicle and hid from the Shorewood police inside the women's bathroom at the Burger King restaurant on Route 59 and Jefferson Street, the arrest report showed.

 

According to the arrest logs, Shorewood police made the arrest of 29-year-old Bolingbrook citizen Juan Bello-Rivera on charges of reckless driving, failure to dim lights, driving in the wrong lane, disobeying traffic controls, resisting arrest, aggravated attempted to elude a police officer, improper lane usage, improper turn at an intersection, and other traffic-related offenses.

 

From there, Bello-Rivera ran into the women’s bathroom where Bello-Rivera was taken into custody around 8:45 p.m., the arrest report showed.
