The iconic film Groundhog Day, staring Illioniain Bill Murray, was released in February of 1993.

Here it is some 28 years later and some of the actors have returned to Woodstock, Il where the movie was filmed.

Both town square and some streets were closed off this past Saturday in Woodstock, much to residents' dismay. Well, that is until they found out why.

Bill Murray and Stephen Tobolowsky, you know Ned Ryerson!, had returned to the Groundhog Day location to film in the same square as this famous scene:

It is being reported that the two were there to film a Jeep commercial. It isn't known if this spot will air during the Super Bowl which happens to fall on Groundhog Day this year.

The Thoughtfulness Shop in Woodstock had a front-row seat to the filming and weren't shy about sharing updates with their Facebook followers.
