Ever since I was a kid, I have loved watching movies. I'm not talking at home on my TV, I'm referring to checking it out on the big screen. It's the only real way to get the full experience. I'm always searching for the best theaters in Illinois to visit.

Recently, I just found a theater in Illinois to add to my bucket list. I never even knew it existed. It's the Emagine theater in Batavia. This isn't your average movie theater. This place is home to the biggest screen in Illinois.

The largest movie screen in Michigan and Illinois with innovative 4K laser projection, 64-channel Dolby Atmos immersive sound, and over 300 luxurious, power-reclining seats.

The screens themselves are 92 to 95 feet wide and over 48 to 53 feet tall, which is about the size of a professional basketball court.

That's one big screen. It reminds me of the IMAX theater at Six Flags Great America back in the day. I could only imagine seeing an action movie on that screen. That's exactly the type of movie-going experience that I'm looking for.

Of course, purchasing a ticket for that theater is going to cost more because it's a special situation. I don't mind that. This summer, on a couple of designated days, you can check out a movie on this screen at the normal movie price. They are on June 25th, July 23rd, August 13th, and August 27th.
